SweptAway Into the New Year

2009 has been a good year for me. There were ups and downs but the ups really motivate me to do better while those downs would be forgotten. It was a struggle but the effort that I've put, I only hope that it would pay off. 2010 is coming!

Today, I'm suppose to be working but after checking the driving centre website at noon, I realised that my Basic Theory Test is today and not tomorrow. Damn lucky. I quickly informed Cold Storage about it and they understood me. Therefore, I'm no longer working there now since my contract expires tomorrow and tomorrow I'll be off. The staffs there wanted me to stay but I told them that I can't afford to travel long journeys frequently. The test was so easy! I completed the 50 minute test in 15 minutes and that was it. I passed! Then I decided to book the Advanced Theory test date but the waiting queue was long. Went to Novena after that to let my manager fill up my punch sheet but unfortunately she had a meeting outside and won't be back. Wasteful trip. So I guess tomorrow I must wake up early to go to Novena just to get that done, followed by a trip to Jurong East to submit that punch sheet to the agency and then go to Bukit Batok driving Centre to book test date. That would cost me the remainder of my EZ Link card balance. From January 1, my student pass will expire. So need to purchase Adult EZ link card soon. And now, the true cost of living will rise. I miss my family. They are staying over in Johor while my elder sister has her "own" house.

No work today and I had nothing better to do.

So after prayer, I headed to Vivo and then Haw Par Villa ALONE.

The rain was a hindrance but that didn't stop me.

Last Minute Shopping Could Kill Cashiers!

Yep hello Christmas is like tomorrow and crowds flock the suermarkets, shopping malls to get their stuffs. Yesterday's work was a killer -long queues, credit card machine faulty, bills of up to $400 per transaction. And I think it would be no better today. Thankfully I will off on Christmas day (thank you supervisor!) and can enjoy. Most customers so far were nice but yesterday I faced a series of nasty customers with those attitudes. The quote "Customer is King" has its limits okay! But no matter what, you should be thankful that I could tolerate all these and give in to your demand. I'm good at pretending and I even smile at every customers sincerely no matter who they are. Well, I'll just adapt.

And yes, this is the band All Time Low and I think it is currently my favourite. I have been practising their song Remembering Sunday and it is nice. Do come to Singapore soon and I'll surely go for your concert. Owl City's Vanilla Twilight has become a boring song unlike the first time I heard it. Fireflies is still as cool as it is. This morning I went to Gek Poh to buy Christmas present as Cold Storage will have Gifts Exchange session among the staffs. Work later at 4.30 till 11pm. Surely I won't get a seat in the MRT tonight =(

Thinking of going overseas with friends in January.

I've searched the budget airlines websites and also the hotels.

My parents allowed me to go.

10 more days to the New Year and I can't wait to finish working.

Even if I want to work again I would make sure that the workplace is near my home.

Yesterday, I laughed at Man Utd and Liverpool who lost their respective games.

Today I'm off from work. Went to Clementi to get my blue spectacle repaired. Met Jun Jie who is having Common Test this week. Saw Daphne Tay at the interchange and her walking speed hasn't changed at all since secondary school days. "Guitaring" as always at home. Still haven't master those chords that strain my fingers. Need practice!

Halfway There!

I realise that I love being a cashier so far but my main problem is the journey from Jurong to Novena that made my life a bit miserable. The staffs there are all nice and whenever I make mistakes, they taught me well. Greeting and smiling to customers have been a norm for me and that's natural. So far so good! My contract ends on 31st December and I don't think I'll continue to work there but I don't mind being a cashier again. There are several supermarkets near my house - Giant, Prime, NTUC and even the Cold Storage at Jurong Point - but the agency placed me at Novena instead. Later today, I shall go to the agency to declare my working hours sheet and I will earn my salary in 2 days time. =) I don't know why I want to work so badly. Partly because I'm bored. And please....I've been checking my letterbox for that NS letter. Even if I would be enlisted in May, please at least notify me soon!

Today's work is great!

Worked at the cash counter but with supervision.

Too kanchiong and gabra initially but along the way I got used to it comfortably.

This work just makes me smile everyday at people =)

Tomorrow will be my last day of training.

If successful, I will open my own counter by Monday.

No pressure. Must learn to relax.

Ended at 3pm just now and I was thinking of going Orchard but I was lonely.

Nobody is at home now. Parents staying overnight at Johor house.

So I have been playing guitar, volume almost to the max with all windows shut.

Work again tomorrow but I don't know what time to report.

Called the office to ask about my schedule but no answer.

Novena Square is so happening!

Do come there during this festive season!

Anyway, for today's training, I learnt how to operate the cash machine.

And also memorise the bar codes of those items without them.

That one I need to improve on.

Not an easy task but I must be natural with it.

Journey from home to there is approximately an hour.

I have to try my best to learn fast but by Sunday if my supervisor is not satisfied with my work, I might not be accepted.

Well, just do what I can.

After work I saw Mark Lim and his sister at Novena.

He has just came back from Bali.

Saw Neil in the MRT back home.

Good to have company.

Alright I got a job now.

Working as cashier at Cold Storage at Novena Square and that's far.

$5.20 per hour before overtime seems okay.

If the circumstances favour me, I would like to work overtime.

Nothing to do at home except surfing internet, playing guitar and watching TV.

It's good that there is a sports complex near my house.

I have been going there for the past 3 days.

Went swimming this morning and got tanned again.

In the afternoon, I went to Recruit Express office to sign contract.

The officer talked to me about my pay, working schedule and all that stuff.

For this job, integrity and patience is needed.

7 Dec is the farewell party fir ruggers going to NS.

It will be held at Sentosa but I think I might come late for that.

Holiday Season

Yay! Feel good to be back in Singapore!

Trip to KL was okay but shopping was fun.

My family and I watched New Moon and 2012 during the weekend.

New Moon was abit disappointing but overall just okay.

I'm just jealous of Jacob's body...

On the way back, we stayed at our house in Johor.

Spent most of the time playing FIFA 10.

Still no broadband there so life is boring.

Back home in the evening yesterday.

Upon reaching, I went to the gym immediately.

I'm getting fatter now and that is demoralising.

Coincidentally, I met Fariss and Zufaidi who were heading to the gym after I signed out.

So I continued...

Well today is a busy day.

Went to Bukit Batok Driving Centre to apply for license.

My Theory test will be on 30th December.

Met Shafiq Karim who had completed his Theory and now preparing for practical.

After that I met Gabriel at Jurong East and we applied for a job there.

Given that I have yet to receive NS letter, I would be able to commit my work longer.

I'm already 18 and I feel bad asking parents for money...so I have to learn to work now.

08S31 Chalet at Aloha Changi was fun.
At midnight, we ventured into the Old Changi Hospital, a place that was destroyed and abandoned.
It was really dark and luckily we had a torchlight.
Watched horror movies throughout the night.

Alright, later tonight I'm ging to KL with family.

Awesome day today!

Gabriel called me at 6am to go to John's house.

Played RockBand at his house till noon.

After that, we headed to NP to play soccer with PJC dudes.

Some of them had Physics paper in the morning.

I was breathless and clearly lost that stamina that I used to have...

After soccer, we ate at Al-Ameen.

Gab and I went to Peninsula Plaza while the rest played LAN at Beauty World.

After browsing through various shops, I decided to choose the above guitar...

Now, let the music begin...

Oh yes, I'll be applying for relief teaching!

Last paper tomorrow!

I spent the whole day doing MCQs at home while my family enjoyed themselves at Vivo.

It's getting exciting!

I hope that NS letter won't arrive soon...

If I enter in April or May, I might as well get a job.

Ideal job would be photography...hhmm

Or maybe teaching?

Nevermind, I got time to decide...

Left with one more paper - Chem Paper 1 on Monday!

Another day full of enjoyment and jokes with former 4H friends!
I arrived at the interchange at 1.20pm but we started our journey like 45 minutes later?

Haha awesome day with awesome friends!

Prelims ended yesterday.

Meaningful yet tiring day today.

Met my old friends at the mosque - Nuqman, Al-Azri and Fauzi.

We went to FICO to eat at Pizza Hut.

Memberz-Memberz were also at FICO to play soccer.

Watched them for a while before walking home with Nuqman.

At the traffic junction outside Gek Poh, we saw our juniors inside a bus waving at us.

A split second later, I was even shocked to see Mark, Wong Jieh, Damien and friends in the same bus too,waving at me!

Haha,so sway! It's like almost the passengers in the bus looking at us.

They were going to play soccer at FICO and allowed me to join them.

So I did.

Joash, Neeraj, Ber Han, Christopher, Bryan and Spencer were there as well!

We booked the pitch for 2 hours and played as if every second counts.

After that we had chicken rice for dinner .

The chicken rice costs $1.50 each!

We ate on the floor outside Jurong Point. Haha

Great to have them if not I would be studying at home after prayer.

Oh yeah! My secondary school friends are organising visits to the teachers' houses this Sunday.

On Monday, my PJC mats and minahs will go Raya!

Have to seize these moments as A Level draws nearer.

Yay! Ramadhan's OVER! I have kept my 100% record of fasting every day!

So, what else do I have to say other than

Alright, I guess I won't be celebrating much.

In a middle of Prelim right now.

I will only celebrate tomorrow and on Monday I shall continue with my revision.

I HATE YOUR PITY!

Some weird/ stupid / unexpected etc things that happened to me this week (in no order of significance):
- Forgot to bring exam entry proof. Had to pay $5 for it.
- Chelsea's transfer ban. That hurts but I still have faith in them.
- My guitar string snapped. I inserted a new one and as I tune it, it snapped again.
- On Thursday as I reached home, I forgot to bring along my house key and there was nobody at home. My mom was at Geylang then. Had to go to the library instead.
- I applied tiger balm on my nose just now but accidentally hit my right eye. The sensation was awesome! Kept winking.
- It's fasting month but somehow I didn't realise myself looking at hot stuff in the newspaper. Sorry.
- Have been watching documentaries before sleeping since Monday. Yesterday I watched the Bermuda Triangle.
- I don't know why I suddenly love to listen to screamo.
- There is something wrong with Blogger.Really.


Alright, go and study people!

Doubts have been running through my head.
Suddenly, I have lost the direction of who I want to be.
I'm confused, not convinced.
I hate to say this but good grades are all that matters now.
Non-academic aspects are settled.
Since I'm losing control of the direction, I have to take it step by step.
I refuse to concede to fate.
Nothing is more important than that certificate.

I'd be free after 23 Nov 2009.
The score remains 0-0.

Had a hard time logging in to Facebook
And now this blogger can't allow me to post pictures
Damn those hackers but I would like to thank them for that.

Life is all time low at the moment.
Lots of sacrifices have been made and there is more to come.
I hope at the end of the day, everything that I do now is worth it.
The important thing is not to regret.
Well, I went for medical consultation after school today.
Last week, I had an echo scan and today the doctor said that my heart is normal.
And perhaps I might get into PES A. See how it goes.
